First sounds we hear are inside the mothers womb (at 18th week of pregnancy). Babies also respond to mothers stress (emotions are contagious). Team of US researchers attempted to find out what baby can hear in the womb through recordings from the inner ear of a fetal sheep. They have discovered low frequencies reach the womb but those higher pitched aren’t quite clearly heard by the baby, just a muffled sound. Volunteers have listened to the recordings and identified 40% of the words. It means whatever mothers do, hears and speaks affects the baby.
Sounds make us feel emotions, remind us of the good and bad times we have experienced. There is a strong connection between sound and emotions. And it starts very early, just like touch – sound is important. Like breathing. Silence or loudness. It always has an impact on humans brain and emotions.
